One Dreem is a not-for-profit organization that is at its very core, simply about helping others. Education, empowerment and experience are the foundation by which we provide our Dreemers the skills they need to take on issues that matter. Change begins with one person. Our goal is to create a community of young, confident, and determined Dreemers – forces of positive change in the world.
One Dreem is about education. By giving young people the resources to take action, they can become the leaders of tomorrow and take on the issues that matter most. The more they know, the more they can take on!
One Dreem is about empowerment. Youth have the desire, determination, and energy to change the world around them. Events, conferences, and workshops are great starting points to provide youth with opportunities to truly make a difference.
One Dreem is about experience. Our charitable events, contests and fundraising activities encourage youth to jump in and get involved to help solve issues around them – both on a local and global scale.
Our mandate is to educate youth to become socially active citizens and leaders.
How do we do this?
We have developed two programs that focus on giving youth the necessary support in becoming socially active citizens and leaders: Youth Social Entrepreneurship and Youth Philanthropy.
YOUTH SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Today’s youth are powerful and ambitious. They have the desire to start and run their own businesses but don’t always know where to start. We believe if youth are given the right opportunity, structure, leadership and business support they can create organizations of change.
Our Youth Social Entrepreneurship program gives opportunities to design, develop, manage and lead businesses founded on the basis of social goodness. Dreemers not only have the opportunity to start and run their own businesses, they will partner with business leaders of One Dreem who will mentor and help bring their ideas to fruition. Dreemers will learn to start and operate a socially focused, impactful business where proceeds go toward the greater good. More than just about profit, the focus is to create opportunities, jobs, value and ultimately real change in the community.
In less than one year, One Dreem has helped launch three businesses: a Home Maintenance service, a clothing line and a digital marketing company.
YOUTH PHILANTHROPY
Most of us have the desire to do good but few take action. That difficult first step is often what prevents us from making a difference. One Dreem focuses on helping our youth make that important first step because we believe giving starts at any age. Our programs support and encourage youth to be agents of change to inspire both young and old. Giving isn’t about how much we have; it’s about what we do with what we have. Young Canadians matter and they can make a difference. We believe education and knowledge have the power to change our perspectives. The more we know, the more we understand the need for change right now.
One Dreem’s first major event, Canada’s Next Top Young Philanthropist, encourages young Canadians to engage with their communities and take action.
